Helen has worked in administration for over twenty years, acting as a PA to Managing Directors, Financial Directors and Area Managers in the banking, automotive and architectural sectors.
Running her own business as a Virtual Assistant is allowing Helen to share her experience with SME's in several areas, helping them take their businesses forward, freeing them up to work on other areas of their business, and introducing systems where there previously weren't any. This makes them more cost efficient which means they make more money!
Helen set up her business early in 2009 on a part time basis, and made the decision to go full time with it in September 2009. This was because she enjoyed being her own boss, having the flexibility to work around her family, but mainly because she really enjoys the work that she is doing. “I get up each day and look forward to my job, and working with my fantastic clients.”
Like any small business owner, Helen juggles the demands of a growing business with family life. She has a seven year old daughter who she enjoys running with, long muddy walks, girly pampering and shopping days, and even helping her with her homework; though she confesses to not understanding some of the new ways of doing maths! In her rare ‘me’ time, Helen enjoys reading a variety of authors, some of which are business related, but are more likely to be a good old thriller or drama.
