“I was particularly interested in the call to action for UK Banks. Not only do they need to improve the customer service they offer to small businesses but they also need to be more supportive by understanding what we do and what we are trying to achieve. In my mind anything banks can do to support small business and improve their offering and services would be beneficial to all parties.”

About

Why did you start up your business? After 12 years in IT, working for large corporates including Sony, my two business partners and I decided to go it alone and set up Positive Computing. Our ethos is simple, offering good solid advise to small businesses, and has proved to be successful, we are still going strong after 11 years.

Why do you enjoy running your own business? The flexibility is a massive draw, as is the immediate personal satisfaction you feel which is so much more rewarding when you don’t work for someone else.

What’s important to you as a small business? That we can make a difference for our clients and ultimately be a contributing factor to their success.

When you’re not running your business, what do you do? I’m on the management board of Newbury Rugby Football Club and when I am not overseeing the first team I am kept busy by my partner and my five kids!
