Do you make it easy for Clients to pay you?

Working witha number of different Clients I see a huge array of invoices from different suppliers.

What amazes me is how hard some of them choose to make it for me to pay them.

Some invoices are missing payment options, some are missing VAT registration numbers, some are even missing a simple contact phone number.

Give your customers an easy way to pay you. I personally print my BACS details on all my invoices, I ask for this as my preferred form of payment. I also give them a clear indication of when payment is due - my payment terms.

I give them my contact information, both phone and email should they need to get in touch, and I have all my address details on there.

Banking is not free, you pay to receive cheques with most banks, you then need to spend time visiting the bank to pay them in, and then you have three working days to wait and see if the funds have cleared.

Most banks do not charge for sending a BACS payment, some even allow it to be in the receiving account the same day. When it gets to the other end its cleared funds.

Have a look again at your invoices, are you giving your Clients enough information to pay you? Are you making it easy for them to do?
