Home Office?

I am fortunate to be able to work from my home office, because I have a great support group available at any time via Skype in the form of the Virtual Assistant Support Group I never feel that I am isolated or alone. I have the best of both worlds, there is always someone there if I need advice or assistance, fancy a chat whilst having my coffee, or I can shut it down and concentrate on the task in hand.

I have a dedicated home office with all the equipment that I need.

How do you handle working from home, and what resources do you feel you are lacking to improve the home office environment.

Hi Helen

Really agree with you. Skype (and also apps like Google Talk and Messenger) really make a big difference for keeping in contact with people.

I especially find this useful when travelling, or speaking with clients and customers in remote locations.

Although, probably one of the things I lack is the ability to conveniently share and collaborate with files. Iv'e tried things like Google Wave, but it's not really exactly what I need.

Hi John

There are several free options for sharing files with Clients. I use a combination of them. I have SugarSync as my online file back up which allows me to share files with Clients, I also use Microsoft Office Live which allows us to work together on the same files, and Microsoft Office Live Sync for one client which means the files are instantly updated between our machines.

One of these may be more suited to what you need to accomplish.

Hope these suggestions help.
